Maru P. Cardillo, currently living and working in Costa Rica, was born in Argentina with an uncommon form of color blindness called Tritanopia.

To say the absence of blue retinal cone cells gifted Maru the ability to see the world differently is an understatement, for the remarkability of her work is in its skillful semantic redefinition of the meaning and usage of, “color.”

Knowing she sees the world in a distinct manner has led Maru to not employ color as an artistic tool BUT rather, through mediums such as OIL, acrylics, ink, pencil, AND watercolor, color becomes the main subject of the work and therefore more intimately linked to the artist’s emotional expression.

Maru P. Cardillo, actualmente viviendo y trabajando en Costa Rica, nació en Argentina con una forma poco común de daltonismo llamada Tritanopia.

Decir que la ausencia de conos de retina azul le dio a Maru la capacidad de ver el mundo de manera diferente es un eufemismo, ya que lo notable de su trabajo está en su hábil redefinición semántica del significado y uso de "color".

Saber que ve el mundo de una manera distinta ha llevado a Maru a no emplear el color como una herramienta artística más bien, a través de medios como el acrílico, el óleo, la acuarela, la tinta y el lápiz, el color se convierte en el tema principal de la obra y por lo tanto más íntimamente ligado a la expresión emocional del artista.
